The mobo specs at the gigabyte web site say this mobo should be more than capable of 1gbps ethernet speed. He connected his laptop to my ethernet cable and ran the Ookla Speedtest with a result of 497mbps up and down. ![]() My ISP provides a 500mbps connection, and this was verified today by their tech. The ethernet adapter is installed in the pcie x1 slot, though I have tried both and it makes no difference in the browser. The BIOS is set to use the integrated video chipset, so it is not looking for a video adapter in any pcie slot. I have removed the pcie x16 video card to be sure that is not interfering. In the network connections I have the wired connection set to manual link negotiation at 1000 mb/s full duplex. It would appear that something in my machine is interfering with the software's ability to utilize the ethernet adapter at full speed.
